Shut Up and Dye!

For the past year, girls have been rocking some pretty crazy hair colors. Pink tips, blue streaks or all over grey are just a few of the colors worn by everyone from celebrities to bloggers.

While the look is very punk, it can also add some edge to your look. Look to Kate Bosworth or Lauren Conrad for inspiration. Even all out color is OK if you do not mind a complete change. However, subtly works best if you like to keep things classy.  If you want to keep it simple and not as permanent, then buy some colored extensions or hair chalk for a funky look that will go away at the end of the day.

Street Style Gone Wild?

Street style….can be discussed on many levels. However, as of late, there seems to be too many people, aka bloggers, who think that in order to gain the attention of photographers that they need to dress in crazy costumes. What was once seen as innovative and whimsical on a blogger’s part to combine prints and vintage that clash has now turned into an all out war to see who can wear the craziest things. Everyone seems to have forgotten that the whole purpose of street style was to showcase people in their everyday lives who actually have style.

Of course, there are the exceptions to the rule. Scott Schuman of the www.thesartorialist.com shoots real people among the myriad of editors and bloggers. However, as long as photographers keep shooting the insane and tacky costumes of the crowds outside of fashion week, then people who actually have style will be over looked.

One Last Summer Fling…

Summer is not officially over until the end of this month. Why not take one last quick jaunt to the shore while you still have the chance? It will start getting too cool to sunbathe (with SPF of course!) or swim.

You do not need to make a big production of your quick trip to the beach. If you are lucky enough to be less than two hours from the water, then just go for a long day trip! If not, then check out the lakes or rivers in your area that allow swimming.

Savor the last moments of summer with a picnic and a radio. You will miss it when the snow starts to fall in a couple of months!

While you are at it, check out our CS collection for women. Pair them with board shorts or denim cut-offs for a casual beach day look!

The New iPhone 5: Yay or Nay?

So, the iPhone 5 was released today….. What do you think? The screen is bigger, and it has been upgraded as far as the camera and processor are concerned. However, its charging situation has completely changed. Its smaller port means that all of your cute little iPhone accessories that you previously owned will not fit the new phone. Apple is selling an adapter for around $30, but is it really worth the trouble? How do you feel about the new iPhone? Will you be upgrading or sticking with your current model?  We know that here in Chicago, customers were lined up starting at 4:30 AM at AT&T and other service providers just to get their hands on the newest hot item!  Apple employees and shareholders should also be happy as the stock is over $700 a share!

Its Fall TV Time!

Ahh! Fall! It is that magical time of year where football, fashion, and TV combine together to make this season one of the best times of the year. We have already discussed the merits of going back to school, fashion week, and football season. Now, it seems only appropriate that we move to TV!

Our favorite shows are coming back on the air as are some great new ones. One of the most interesting shows to create a buzz is called Revolution. This post-apocalyptic show takes place fifteen years after a massive energy blackout. After, watching the premier we were impressed with the idea, but it could get corny fast.  Additionally, 666 Park Avenue  looks like it could be the drama of the year – we will have to wait and see how scary and twisted this series will go!  In the mean time, we are waiting for Modern Family, 30 Rock, and  Gossip Girl…we mean Two Broke Girls to start-up again. What are you waiting to watch?
